Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Hi, my name is Matthew Spiers, and I’m 17 years old and I’m studying production arts which is lighting and sound for concerts and theatre shows. I’m also interested in playing the guitar and keeping up with football. I do like to create a bit of music on the side and would hope that it goes somewhere one day.
Matthew hopes to work in media management after leaving college.
What are your plans after leaving college?
I haven’t thought about it too much, but I may stick with something similar to the course I’m currently studying or go down the music route as I have a friend who has offered to give me lessons on playing the guitar.
How has COVID affected your situation?
When everything switched to online, it was a case of having zoom lessons and the theory-based side of my course instead of the practical side. COVID did push a lot of shows back for me, as there was one point when we went back to college, and I had five shows in the space of 4 weeks, which was hectic.
