Congratulations to Christina!

We’d like to extend our congratulations to Christina, who has successfully gained employment during her time in Capital Xtra’s Music Potential programme. Christina is a singer and a mentor who has been through our employability programme about improving mindsets. She is now in a new role helping other young people to fulfill their potential.

“What stood out to me in particular about the employability sessions was how strongly and genuinely I felt supported as an individual. I came out of every session much more self aware and improved with my thinking and my action taking. I am tho thankful I was able to get such brilliant support and advice which has made me feel more determined and ready than ever.” – Christina

This month we’ve been working with Punch Records and Capital Xtra to deliver employability workshops, as part of the Music Potential programme, helping young people not in employment, education or training to understand how to break into the music industry.

Congratulations to Khadeem!

By | Blog | No Comments

Khadeem Duncan-Banerjee has been nominated for the Birmingham Awards in the category of Young Achiever of the Year!

Khadeem has raised hundreds of pounds for community projects in a deprived and disadvantaged area, taught children and young people to work cohesively together via music-making, and taught key business skills such as time management, patience and persuasiveness. Khadeem is currently working towards raising £5000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, and £1000 to sponsor children in the West Midlands. Khadeem has broken down the barriers of social acceptance in the music industry, conducting professional orchestras and choirs at the young age of 16.

Furthermore, he has done all this for the good of his community and with very little financial support. His local church has helped with advertising, and his projects have otherwise been promoted on EventBrite, LiveBrum and social media, and through local radio interviews.

To vote for Khadeem to win Young Achiever of the Year click here, scroll down to his category, select Khadeem Duncan-Banerjee and click Vote.
